I counted our
group chat.

Ten weeks of FootballSpaces @SportsWeb: 4,786 messages, 90 games. I exported it and parsed the whole thing. Some of what fell out seems worth showing you. Mostly pictures.

37% of everything ever said

sources of truth: the list in WhatsApp, the money in the link. A human syncs them by hand, nightly
02 · One game, start to finish

The 22nd of July, as it happened.

12:22Template posted. The copy paste relay begins
12:31Paste 1 of 19. Each player copies the newest version, types their name, sends the whole thing again
1:15"Guys start clearing payments early"
5:30"I put my name first and paid and this guy removed it". A paying player, deleted by someone else's paste
5:31The official fix: "just copy the message and add ur name with the tick mark n send it again"
7:45"which ground?" asked three times, answered three times
SOME NIGHTS"cancelling the game due to last minute cancellations :(" and refunds, processed by hand

Nobody here is doing anything wrong. Seven documented people got wiped off lists this way in ten weeks. The tooling is a chat box, and this is what chat boxes do.

Chapter 1 · the loop in full: five jobs, every failure, verbatim →
03 · Why it is like this

Four people organize themselves.
Eighteen do not.

PADEL · PICKLE4 PLAYERS

A calendar can sell this court. Self serve works, which is why booking apps cover it.

FOOTBALL18 PLAYERS + 1 ORGANIZER
ORG

Eighteen semi strangers, one hour, and any one of them can flake at 8:27 PM. Someone has to run this. Today that someone is a person with a phone.

04 · What that manual loop is holding

The community line grew 71%
in ten weeks. Zero marketing.

CONFIRMED PLAYERS PER WEEK, ONE GROUND · 82 → 140 · 862 FRIENDS OF FRIENDS WALKED IN AS PLUS ONES · FILLS THE LATE HOURS NOBODY BOOKS
And the whole line runs on one person's stamina.

05 · The software shaped hole

One game should be one message.

Most communities in this city run on a UPI QR and a guy chasing people after the game. PlaySpaces already has login, online payment and a real refund policy. That rail is why 90 games happened at all. What is missing is the loop around the rail, and that part is software:

  • The card updates itself. Nobody re-pastes anything

06 · What else falls out

The chat already knows
when to schedule.

Same people, same turf, 34 points of fill apart. I only know this because I parsed ten weeks of pastes. Run the loop in software and this data is free: per ground, per slot, per format, live. That is scheduling, pricing and expansion decisions on numbers instead of feel.

LEAD
Where this points

The lifecycle is mechanical, so software should run it. The human keeps the judgment calls and the campfire. One community lead runs several grounds instead of one, and the 71% curve stops being capped by anyone's stamina.

07 · The test

The proof costs one game.

One Wednesday 9v9 posted as a live, self updating card instead of a template. Watch three numbers: roster pastes (should hit zero), admin messages per game, time to fill. Undo is deleting one message. The group keeps its chat, its banter and its streak either way.
